Kristin Phillips, ARNP
Kristen graduated with a nursing degree from the University of Florida in 2004 and worked as a Registered Nurse for 10 years, primarily in Oncology. She then pursued a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Georgia State University, graduating in 2014. Prior to joining Palliative Care, Kristen worked in Internal Medicine at a physician’s practice, and has since brought her skill set to our team and patient family. Kristin has a wonderful husband and 2 darling children. She has lived in Florida, California, and Ohio, but greatly enjoys covering the greater Athens area and discovering the beauty of Georgia. In her free time she likes to run, travel, and spend time at church and with family.
Andrea Brown, ARNP, FNP-C
As a veteran Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner with years of experience under her belt, Andrea provides a wealth of knowledge to our team. Her achievements include graduating from Emory University with a Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to her work in Palliative Care, Andrea worked in Nursing Homes overlooking the care of the residences and managing their chronic illnesses. She is originally from Jamaica and in her free time works closely with community organizations.
Philip Garofano, ARNP, FNP-C
Philip received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University and furthered his education at Ball State University with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. He is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, in addition to being certified in Oncology. Philip’s diversified experience includes working in a Pulmonology practice, as well serving as a Hospice RN. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, recreational shooting, and riding four wheelers.
Jaami McCellan Rutledge, DNP, ARNP
Dr. Jaami Rutledge holds a clinical Doctorate in Nursing, Masters of Science in Nursing, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center with a specialty in Adult/Geriatric Primary Care. She has enjoyed working with patients of all ages from teens to 100+ years as a Primary Care Provider, Urgent Care provider, Sports/Occupational Medicine Provider, Home Care consultant and Exercise Consultant for healthy aging. Jaami grew up as an athlete and dancer, and since then she has transferred that passion for being active into daily life as an adventurer, wife, mother, and Advanced Practice Nurse. She feels strongly about helping her patients remain physically, mentally, and emotionally active while engaging in their healthcare, health decisions and communities to age with a robust quality of life.
Calandra Togba-Doya, LCSW
Having graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master’s degree in Social work, Calandra has a passion for helping patients and families by ensuring that they have the support and community resources to improve their lives. Her experience as a Medical Social Worker includes performing psychosocial screenings and developing an appropriate plan of care for her patients as they journey to wellness. Calandra enjoys travel in her spare time and calls West Africa her second home. She is a mother of 3 sweet and active children that she lovingly refers to as “the wrecking crew”. Extended family is important to Calandra, as is living a wholesome and balanced life, and helping others achieve that very goal.
